Captain's Wood Barn

Captain's Wood Barn in Malden, Essex is an extremely special wedding venue to me... it's where I go married! As a wedding photographer I had been to all of the major venues in Essex and had projected my client's days onto the venues, so the first rule when planning our own wedding was 'not in Essex!'. It wasn't till we visited this that new dry hire venue and chatted with the lovely farm owners, that we knew it had to be here. My video team captured my wedding day, check the bottom of the page for the (self-edited!) trailer!

I was honoured to capture Jasmine & Jack's wedding day years later at the same venue. Jasmine was our little boy's NICU nurse in St. Thomas' in London after an operation at birth, and during a long day on the ward we showed off our own wedding pictures which inspired Jas and Jack to book the venue for their own day.

A wedding in the woods, tractor rides and camp fires... there is no venue with more character, if you're one of the lucky few to get a booking, then I'd love to capture you're special day at a venue I know like the back of my hand!

We didn’t have many plans for our wedding, if I’m honest we didn’t have any great ideas for what we wanted so Mike went through different ideas and groups, settings and timings which was really helpful. We both had worries over spending hours on group photos and not enjoying our wedding.

In fact We had such an amazing time having photos with Dawn and Mike it didn’t feel like the typical wedding shots.

Thank you for Always capturing moments without feeling like we had to schedule round photos. It was exactly how we imagined it to be but wasn’t sure it was possible.

We are forever grateful and love every single photo. We just have endless beautiful memories now to look through. We couldn’t be happier with how they turned out.
