A real wedding! And my first at the wonderful Houchins Venue, with buckets of enthusiasm, I am blogging an actual wedding, shot this year! It feels absolutely amazing.

2021, after a rocky start, has been full of wonderful weddings! It’s been full-on for wedding suppliers (myself included) but I’m personally loving every minute.

Tracey and Chris married in early July. If you’ve planned or worked on weddings this year you’ll remember this time for its nail-biting moments (thanks Boris!) the rules for weddings, guests, dancing, masks etc seemed to change daily and with little notice. Tracey and Chris had already rearranged their date and had to make some difficult decisions on numbers at the last minute, but they could finally go ahead with their special day, it was actually going to happen!

I’ll always look back on this wedding as a milestone, things finally started to feel ‘normal’ and I could do the job I love so much.

My couple and their gorgeous son, Frank were just the nicest family. I say it so much, but when a family are so lovely, it is so special to capture one of the most important days of their lives. After 7 years of photographing weddings, this doesn’t fade!

Houchins is a beautiful venue, located in North Essex, it combines a rich history dating back to the 17th Century with modern and elegant new additions. The outdoor space and little touches that have been so lovingly thought out make the venue an enchanting place to get married and a dream for photographers to shoot.  It’s perfect for an outdoor Essex Wedding.

It amazed me how couples and wedding suppliers have adapted and come together to make everything perfect in the face of adversity this year, Houchins particularly wowed me with their wonderful outdoor dance floor.

It’s been amazing to be back in the wedding game, but as always, more than anything it’s been an honour to meet, shoot and be made to feel part of so many special couples’ big day. All with their own beautiful story to tell.

Thank you Tracey and Chris for letting me capture your wonderful wedding.
