I loved this laid back, Harry Potter inspired festival wedding, it was a big highlight of wedding season 2021 for me.
Another rescheduled wedding day, Sian and Mitch finally got to tie the knot in July with a beautiful Buddist ceremony, swiftly followed by an epic celebration in an awesomely kitted out, Harry Potter themed tipi.
The whole day took place on Mitch’s parents land, nestled in gorgeous Essex countryside. It’s always great to have a blank canvas to get creative with, it does however mean heaps of work for the bride and groom, but Sian and Mitch pulled it off perfectly!
The weather was less than ideal, great British summertime gave us a solid day of rain! But, of course, that did not stop play, the groomsmen borrowed a pub garden full of umbrellas providing plenty of shelter and guests huddled under them, drinks in hand, big smiles on faces.
The Buddist ceremony was majestic, a first for me and wonderful to witness such passion and connection.
One of the many highlights of the day was the series of speeches, a family of natural-born performers (Mitch and his brother are in one of my favourite bands, The Milk) the speeches were everything you’d expect, animated, passionate, well delivered and the best man wrote and performed his very own version of Blurs ‘Park Life’! What more could a lad who grew up in the ’90s ask for?
As always, I was honoured to capture Sian and Mitchs’ day, their family are friends of mine which is always extra special… and it ultimately means staying for a few drinks after a hard days work.
Thanks for having me guys!
